Footnotes

After the war, Bailey commissioned and presented to the National Portrait Gallery three group portraits of the leading sea officers, general officers and statesmen of this war. They were painted by Cope, Sargent and Guthrie respectively, and presented in 1921, 1922, and 1930. See 'Sir Abe Bailey's Historic Reunion: Assembly of Surviving Leaders in the Great War' The African World, 1932.
